Long Time is a 30-foot water wheel sculpture located on Pier 66 on the Hudson River, between 26th and 27th streets in New York, NY. The piece is powered by a combination of the river and the wind. A dial counts the revolutions that the wheel makes. The count began on April 12, 2007, and will continue indefinitely until environmental or cultural circumstances stops the wheel from spinning. Built as a timepiece to count the passage of time, its intent is to place our existence within a broader context.
